Social Justice as a path to peace conference
wednesday and thursday may 4 & 5, 2011
Are you passionate about social justice issues, involved in community/school groups dedicated to an important cause or do you belong to your school's social justice club? Last May, Dr. Megan Shore shared her knowledge from her recent book, Religion and Conflict: Christianity and the South African Truth and Reconcilliation Commission. Small group discussions will follow. Participants and current students got to know each other by touring the campus together, sharing lunch and a coffee house with Social Justice and Peace Studies (SJPS) students.
A panel of SJPS students will share their international experiences related to SJPS activism and studies. The day will end with a "World Cafe" which provides opportunities to visit nations and issues of your choice to engage in dialogue with faculty and students.
